MERIDA

It is the capital of Extremadura, a tourist attraction with an immeasurable archeological wealth. Mérida was founded by the Roman emperor, Octavio Augusto, and named Emérita Augusta. Amazing buildings such as the theater, amphitheater, circus, temples, aqueduct or the bridges bear witness to its grandeur.

It was declared a World Heritage in 1993.

It is now a modern and open city offering all types of activities, such as the Classical Theater Festival in Mérida, which takes place during the months of July and August.
